Following the first season that aired for 12 episodes from July to September 2024, the second season of the TV anime adaptation of Akumi Agitogi’s romance fantasy light novel series My Happy Marriage is set to premiere on January 6, 2025. Takehiro Kubota (ID: INVADED assistant director) continues to serve as the director at studio Kinema Citrus.

Born talentless to a noble family famous for their supernatural abilities, Miyo Saimori is forced into an existence of servitude by her abusive stepmother. When Miyo finally comes of marriageable age, though, her hopes of being whisked away to a better life crumble after she discovers her fiancé’s identity: Kiyoka Kudou, a commander apparently so cold and cruel that his previous would-be brides all fled within three days of their engagements. With no home to return to, Miyo resigns herself to her fate—and soon finds that her pale and beautiful husband-to-be is anything but the monster she expected. As they slowly open their hearts to each other, both realize the other may be their chance at finding true love and happiness

The love between Kiyoka and Miyo continues to grow in the second season of the anime adaptation of Akumi Agitogi’s My Happy Marriage novel series, which brings the pair face to face with more challenges they must overcome together.

Anime producer Kadokawa announced today that My Happy Marriage season 2 will premiere in January 2025, alongside unveiling the first trailer, the first visual and three new cast members who will be important to the plot.

oining the cast of the second season of the My Happy Marriage anime are:

  • Tadakiyo Kudo voiced by Ryotaro Okiayu, Kiyoka’s father and previous head of the family
  • Fuyu Kudo voiced by Kikuko Inoue, Kiyoka’s mother
  • Naoshi Usui voiced by Yuya Uchida, The founder of the “Gifted Communion” sect, which has plans to overthrow society using Miyo

Takehiro Kubota continues directing My Happy Marriage, bringing Masayuki Kojima to share the duties at Kinema Citrus. Ami Sato continues to write the series composition with Shoko Yasuda drawing the character designs and Kuniyuki Ito helping as the sub-character designer and music from Evan Call.

Netflix will continue to stream the series as it airs in January 2025. Yen Press publishes the English version of the series and describes the story as such:
