One Piece Anime Cracks Open New Visual, Trailer for Egghead Arc

The Straw Hats will make landing on January 7, 2024!

Leaving the historic upheaval in Wano for the technological intrigue in Egghead, the future of the One Piece anime is looking bright in a brand-new visual and trailer released today for the much-anticipated Egghead Arc.

The Straw Hats’ latest adventure is officially set to begin on January 7, 2024.

The One Piece mega-franchise closed Jump Festa 2024 tonight with its special stage event where it brought the stars of the live-action on stage to have some fun with the Japanese voice cast and announce more details on the upcoming Egghead arc, including new themes and additional cast members.

Joining the cast of the One PieceTV anime for the Egghead arc include:

  • Dr. Vegapunk voiced by Yohei Tadano
  • Shaka voiced by Shuhei Sakaguchi
  • Lilith voiced by Aya Hirano 
  • Edison voiced by Ryoko Shiraishi
  • Pythagoras voiced by Tokuyoshi Kawashima
  • Atlas voiced by Kaede Hondo 
  • York voiced by Mutsumi Tamura

Manga creator Eiichiro Oda also sent a message to fans during the stage where he celebrated the live-action One Piece series and how well One Piece Film Red did at the box office at the end of its run and through its encore screenings. Oda asks fans to look forward to the anime in its 25th year!

Over 1,000 episodes of the One Pieceanime are available to watch on Crunchyroll along with a bunch of the One Piece movies, including the latest One Piece Film Red. Crunchyroll describes the franchise as such:

One Piece Anime Announces Hiatus, Newly-Edited Fish-Man Island Arc

Something special is in store for the One Piece anime, with Toei Animation announcing a break for the Egghead Arc along with the return of a classic storyline. The hiatus officially begins after today’s airing of Episode 1122. While we wait for new simulcast episodes adapting Eiichiro Oda’s sprawling manga, fans will be treated to the weekly broadcast of One Piece Log: Fish-Man Island Saga

The special edited version of the original arc presents Fish-Man Island in an abridged 21-episode story with enhanced contemporary visuals. Crunchyroll has confirmed plans to stream the episodes as they air in Japan.

One Piece Log: Fish-Man Island Saga

Start Date: October 27, 2024

Synopsis:

The Straw Hats reunite at Sabaody! The promised day has arrived. The Straw Hats have made it back to Sabaody Archipelago after two arduous years of separation. In the very same place where they once lost to Pacifista, the Straw Hats have proven themselves to be stronger and ready to begin their journey to the New World. With the Thousand Sunny now equipped to travel underwater, the next stop is the Fish-Man Island. “One Piece Log: Fish-Man Island Saga” is a special edited version of the original arc from “One Piece”, in an abridged 21-episode story with an enhanced contemporary visual look.

In addition to the new animation sequences, One Piece Log: Fish-Man Island Saga will feature updated opening and ending themes. The opening theme, “We Go!” by Hiroshi Kitadani, will have a special guest collaboration, with more to be announced soon. There will also be an “exciting new touch” added to BE:FIRST ending song “Sailing.” 

One Piece fans can also look forward to a special 25th Anniversary Episode, which is set to premiere on October 20. The episode will honor the enduring legacy of One Piece with a 30-minute ensemble depicting the reunion of the Straw Hat crew from the perspective of non-pirate characters, all taking place after the Summit War in the Sabaody Archipelago. A young girl who admires Nami is in the lead and ready to set off on an adventure of her own.
